Hey,
If your Zorcha automation is successfully sending comment replies but DMs aren't going through, you’re in the right place.
This issue can have several causes—but in most cases, it’s due to a simple Instagram setting related to DM access.
⚠️ Common Error Message
"The account owner has disabled access to Instagram Direct Messaging."
Error Code: 200
This error means your Instagram account has restricted third-party tools (like Zorcha) from sending or receiving messages via the Instagram API.
🔧 How to Fix It: Enable DM Access on Instagram
To allow Zorcha to deliver automated DMs, follow these steps:
- Open Instagram
- Log in using the mobile app (recommended) or web browser.
- Go to Settings
- Tap your profile icon
- Hit the ☰ (three-line) menu in the top right
- Select “Settings and privacy”
- Open Messaging Preferences
- Scroll to “Messages and story replies”
- Find the section titled “How people can reach you”
- Enable Access to Messages for Connected Tools
- Look for a toggle like “Allow access to messages” or “Connected tools”
- Make sure this is turned on
This setting allows Zorcha to send DMs on your behalf while staying fully compliant with Instagram’s API policies.
