We recently came across a strange issue reported by a few Zorcha users:

“My automations are working perfectly on every post and reel—except one.”

At first, it left us scratching our heads. Everything looked fine on our end: the automation was set up properly, the reel was live, and comments were rolling in.

But then…💡

One of our team members happened to open the reel in incognito mode, and that cracked the case.

The Hidden Problem: Age-Restricted Content

When viewed in incognito (i.e. logged out of Instagram), the reel didn’t load—it was marked as age-restricted content by Instagram and required age verification to view.

Since all of us were testing from our logged-in (18+) accounts, we never saw the restriction. But Instagram’s API doesn’t behave the same way.

⚠️ Instagram DM Automations Do Not Work on Age-Restricted Content

That’s right. If a reel or post is marked as age-restricted, Instagram blocks third-party tools (like Zorcha) from sending automated DMs based on that content.

✅ What You Can Do -

If your automation is working on all other posts but not on one, try this:

Open the reel/post in incognito mode (or log out of Instagram and try viewing it).

If you see a message like “This content is age-restricted”, you’ve found the issue.

Check why Instagram flagged it—it could be due to music, visuals, captions, or keywords.

In the future, avoid posting content that might trigger Instagram’s age filters if you plan to run automations on it.
