Problem
Your Instagram automation stops responding after a user clicks a button or interacts with your DM automation. The automation may work once but then fails on subsequent interactions.
Why This Happens
Instagram allows multiple apps to manage your messages. When another app (like Meta Business Suite or another chatbot) responds to a conversation, it takes over control of that chat thread. This prevents Zorcha from sending further messages until it regains control.
Solution
Step 1: Open Facebook Page Settings
- Go to Facebook.com and navigate to your Page
- Click Settings & privacy in the left sidebar
- Click Page setup
- Click Advanced messaging
Step 2: Enable Zorcha Permissions
- In Advanced messaging, find Zorcha-IG in the connected apps
- Click on it to open the settings dialog
- Enable both toggles:
- ✅ Access standby channel — Lets Zorcha see messages even when not active
- ✅ Take control of conversations — Lets Zorcha resume automations automatically
- Click Save
Step 3: Set Zorcha as Primary Receiver (Recommended)
For the best experience, set Zorcha as the Primary Receiver so it handles messages first:
- In Advanced messaging, scroll to Instagram receiver
- Select Zorcha-IG as the primary app
Tips to Avoid Issues
- Don't reply manually via Meta Business Suite while automations are running
- Disconnect unused apps that might interfere with your Instagram DMs
- If using multiple tools, ensure they don't overlap on the same triggers
